Here is a story for the children.
LIFE IS TOO MUCH-by little JOHN!
Life was too much for little John because everything he did was too hard.
When he woke up in the morning he felt tired because he had too little sleep.
His mother asked him to tidy his room but it was too messy and he couldn’t do it.
”YOUR BREAKFAST IS READY, ‘’ said his mother.
What a relief!
He ate his breakfast and ran down the road to catch the bus, as he turned the corner he saw the bus drive off.
He was too slow.
He walked all the way to school and arrived late.
‘’OPEN UP YOUR HOMEWORK’’, said the teacher.
All the class opened up their books and sat very still hoping the teacher would not ask them to tell the class about last night’s homework.
She pointed her finger at John; slowly he stood up and began to read out his answers, the class went very quiet, all his answers were wrong.
The teacher told him to stand at the back of the room.
“THAT’S WHAT HAPPENS TO LAZY BOYS,’’ said the teacher.
John was so embarrassed his face went red.
At lunchtime John looked at his sandwich with great disappointment, his mother had used yesterday’s bread, he tried to sprinkle water on it but that just made it soggy.
His friend thought this was funny, so he laughed and ran off to play with someone else.
John was happy when the bell rang, It was sports day and John ran his race as fast as he could but he was too slow.
He came last.
It was time to go home, John caught the bus, but he missed his stop and had to walk back up the hill in the rain.
When he opened the door his mother told him off, for putting his muddy shoes all over the carpet.
“HOW WAS YOUR DAY JOHN? “said his mother.
‘’IT WAS OKAY, ”said John
John ate his dinner and went to his bedroom to do his homework, the answers seemed all wrong, but he was not sure; so he left them written on the page.
John got ready for bed.
His mother kissed him goodnight and closed the bedroom door.
John got down on his knees to say his prayers, before he could say anything a tear ran down his cheek.
He just sobbed out a prayer,
“DEAR GOD MY LIFE IS TOO MUCH, PLEASE HELP!’’
He lay down and went to sleep.
While John slept his prayer started to float up to heaven.
Just before John woke up the next morning, his words came floating down,
“MY LIFE IS TOO MUCH!’’
got up he felt great!
His mother asked him how did he sleep?
’’ITS STRANGE MUM, I FEEL LIKE I HAD TOO MUCH SLEEP! “
mother checked his room it looked too tidy.
John ate his breakfast and ran to catch the bus.
John ran so fast he was too early and had to wait for the bus.
John arrived at school on time.
When the teacher asked everyone for their
homework John became a little worried.
Again she pointed at John.
When he read out his answers no-one said a word… the teacher smiled at John and told the class he was too smart because all his answers were correct.
Johns face beamed with a big smile.
At lunchtime John opened his lunchbox, he couldn’t believe it;
his mother had put in his favourite food, she put in too much and John was able to share it with his friends.
was going to be cross-country race for all the boys in John’s class.
John won the race because he ran too fast.
He had slept so well and been encouraged by his special lunch; then his teacher had praised him in front of the whole class.
He felt like running all day.
He had too much energy.
When John got home that day his mother said to him,
“HOW WAS YOUR DAY?’’
By now John was so excited he said,
’’MY DAY WAS SO GREAT, IT WAS ALMOST TOO MUCH..! ’’
John ate his dinner and did his homework.
His mother kissed him goodnight and closed the door.
John got down on his knees and prayed,
’’THANK YOU GOD, MY LIFE REALLY IS TOO MUCH!’’
May your influence grow far and wide,
May your influence be like the king tide,
When your opportunity comes, don’t let it slide.
May the thermals of God cause you to glide.
Step into success because there’s no place to hide.
You will be a source of your family’s pride.
May the heavens above you… open wide.
Hold on tight so you can enjoy the ride.
