Greetings, Beloved Church Family!
It is with great joy that we bring you this month’s edition of the Lewiston Community Church Newsletter. As we embrace the blessings of our beautiful town and the work that God is doing in our community, we also take time to reflect on how our faith connects us to one another and to the place we call home.
A City with Purpose
Lewiston, a gem in Western Idaho, has been a blessing to many who seek a place of peace, stability, and opportunity. As Idaho’s only seaport, it is a hub of industrial and agricultural activity. The paper and timber industries provide employment for many, while Lewis-Clark State College continues to serve as a beacon of education and vocational training. God has truly placed His hand on our city, allowing it to prosper and offer a livelihood to its residents.
Affordable housing and employment opportunities have made Lewiston an attractive home for many, and we believe that these gifts come with a purpose: to be a light in the community. Whether through our work, our service, or our interactions with our neighbors, we have the chance to reflect Christ’s love daily.
Seasons of Change, Seasons of Growth
Just as the seasons shift in Lewiston—hot summers, crisp autumns, chilly winters, and rejuvenating springs—so too does God bring seasons into our lives. Sometimes we experience a harvest, full of joy and abundance. Other times, we may endure a winter of challenges, but it is in those moments that our faith deepens and our trust in the Lord grows stronger.
Agriculture thrives in Lewiston, from grain fields to vineyards like Clearwater Canyon Cellars and Lindsay Creek Vineyards. In the same way, God is cultivating something within each of us. As Jesus said in John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit.” Let us remain steadfast in Him, knowing that He is producing a harvest of righteousness in our lives.
While Lewiston may be small in size, it is rich in heart and spirit. As members of this community, we are called to support and uplift one another. This past month, we have seen God work mightily through our church events, outreach programs, and small group gatherings. Whether it’s through worship, Bible study, or acts of service, our church family continues to grow in love and unity.
If you are looking for ways to get involved, consider joining one of our ministry teams. From serving at the local food pantry to organizing community worship nights, there are plenty of opportunities to be the hands and feet of Christ in Lewiston.
Finding God in Nature
One of the greatest gifts we have in Lewiston is the beauty of God’s creation all around us. Whether you’re taking a peaceful walk through Hells Gate State Park, visiting Locomotive Park, or exploring the Nez Perce County Historical Society, you can see the fingerprints of our Creator in every tree, river, and mountain.
Psalm 19:1 reminds us, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” Let us take time to step outside, breathe in the fresh air, and give thanks for the wonder of creation that surrounds us. May our connection to nature deepen our appreciation for God’s power and presence in our lives.
As we move forward into this new season, let us remember that our faith is not just something we practice on Sundays—it is the foundation of our lives. Whether we are at work, at school, or in our homes, let us shine the light of Christ in all that we do.
We encourage each of you to take a moment to pray for our city, our leaders, and our neighbors. Let us ask God to guide us in His wisdom, to bless the work of our hands, and to bring revival to our community.
As we close this newsletter, let us hold onto the promise of Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
May God bless you abundantly, and may we continue to walk in faith together.
In Christ’s love,
Emma
