“Heavenly Father, we come before You tonight with open hearts and minds, seeking Your wisdom, Your encouragement, and Your guidance. We thank You for bringing us together as a church family and for the opportunity to be uplifted by Your word. Trish’s Message:

“Good evening, everyone. It is such a blessing to gather together in the house of the Lord tonight. As I was preparing to speak, God placed a story on my heart—one that speaks to perseverance, trust, and uncovering the blessings that may be hidden in our past. It is the story of a young woman named Sophia Tran, who grew up right here in Columbia, Maryland.

Sophia was a high school junior, passionate about fencing. She had been training for years with one goal in mind: to earn a scholarship to a prestigious college. She worked tirelessly, dedicating countless hours to her craft, honing her skills, and dreaming of the future she believed she was meant to have.

But then, something unexpected happened. A new coach arrived at her club—his name was Victor Moreau. He was different from the other coaches Sophia had known. He pushed her in ways that no one else had. He challenged her to rethink everything she thought she knew about fencing, about strategy, and even about herself. And as they worked together, Sophia felt a strange sense of familiarity. Something about Coach Moreau stirred memories deep within her, though she couldn’t quite place why.

Then, one day, Sophia made a discovery that would change everything. She learned that Victor Moreau had once been a student of her late grandfather—a man she had only known through old photos and a few stories. Her grandfather had been an Olympic fencer, a legend in his time, but he had never spoken much about his past. And now, here was Victor, someone who had been deeply shaped by her grandfather’s teachings, standing before her and carrying forward a legacy she never even knew existed.

Sophia could have ignored this discovery. She could have continued to focus only on herself and her personal ambitions. But instead, she leaned into it. She began to ask questions, to learn more about her grandfather’s past, and to understand the hidden history of her own family. And as she did, she uncovered a truth that shook her to her core: Her grandfather had once been on track to win Olympic gold, but due to unforeseen circumstances, he had walked away from the sport entirely. However, even though he never returned to competition, he never stopped passing on his knowledge, training students like Victor, who in turn was now training her.

What does this tell us, church? It tells us that God’s plans are bigger than our own. We may think we understand our path, but God is working in ways we can’t always see. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us: ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.’

Sophia thought fencing was just about earning a scholarship, but God had a deeper purpose for her gift. He was connecting generations, revealing a legacy, and showing her that her talents were not just for personal gain but to honor those who came before her and those who would come after her. Isn’t that what faith is about? Seeing beyond what is in front of us and trusting that God is doing something greater.

Tonight, I want to encourage you with this: There may be things in your life right now that seem uncertain. You may feel like you are working toward something, but the path is changing in ways you don’t understand. Maybe you are questioning why certain doors are closing or why new challenges are arising. But let me tell you, God is not just writing your story—He is connecting it to something greater than you can imagine.

Think about Columbia, Maryland. This city was planned and designed to be a place where families and businesses could thrive. It was built with intention. And look at it now—Columbia has grown into one of the most livable places in the country, filled with opportunities, beauty, and community. In the same way, God is planning your life with intention. He sees beyond the moment you are in right now. He is shaping your story to bless you and to bless others through you.

So, I ask you tonight—what legacy are you carrying forward? What hidden blessings is God waiting to reveal in your life? Maybe there are family stories, old dreams, or forgotten callings that God is bringing back to the surface. Maybe, like Sophia, you are on the brink of a discovery that will reshape how you see yourself and your purpose.

Let us not be discouraged by what we don’t yet understand. Let us walk forward in faith, knowing that God is always at work. He is training us, preparing us, and placing us exactly where we need to be.

Closing Scripture and Prayer:
Jeremiah 29:11 – ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’

‘Heavenly Father, we thank You for the reminder that You are always at work in our lives. We thank You for the hidden blessings, the lessons, and the legacy that You are weaving together for our good. Help us to trust in Your plans, to walk in faith, and to embrace the journey even when we do not understand it. May we be lights in this world, passing on the faith, wisdom, and love You have placed in us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.’

Church Discussion on Healing in Towson, Maryland

Nestled in Baltimore County, Towson is a community-led city with a population of over 57,000 people. The town is known for its top-rated schools and abundance of recreational activities. Residents can enjoy shopping at the Towson Town Center mall, exploring the historic downtown area, or hiking and biking along the scenic trails at Loch Raven Reservoir. There are also plenty of dining and entertainment options to choose from, making Towson an ideal place to live, work, and raise a family.

On a bright Sunday morning, March 10th, 2025, Bella, a long-time resident and devout member of the local church, led a heartfelt discussion on faith and healing. The church hall was filled with eager attendees who gathered to seek wisdom and understanding from the Word of God.

Bella began by sharing the story of a woman who was physically bent over and unable to straighten up. “You’ve seen folks like that,” Bella explained, “people might have called it ‘curvature of the spine’ or just arthritis. But what did Jesus say it was? It wasn’t God’s teaching; it was the enemy at work.”

The congregation listened intently as Bella delved into the New Testament, referencing 1 Timothy 6:12, “Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold on eternal life.” Bella emphasized the importance of actively taking hold of God’s promises and standing against the works of the enemy.

She continued with the story of Paul, who was tied to the post and faced persecution. “What should Paul have done?” Bella asked. “Some might say he should be silent like Jesus, but Jesus acted as our Substitute, not as our Example. There’s a difference between what He did for us and how we follow His path.”

As Bella spoke, she highlighted Mark 5:23, where Jairus pleaded with Jesus to heal his dying daughter. “I rebuke you!” Bella exclaimed, echoing Jesus’ authority over disease and demonic forces. “There’s a devilish energy in disease. It’s not from God. It’s the enemy trying to choke the life out of us.”

The audience nodded in agreement as Bella explained how the Old Testament foreshadowed the New Testament. “The Old Testament is full of beautiful types of Jesus and redemption. Yet, many Christians today are woefully ignorant of it.”

When a young man in the audience asked, “But what if I feel like I don’t have enough faith?” Bella responded with compassion, “Remember the ‘M’ word: Mercy. When you’ve messed up, just humble yourself and ask for God’s mercy. It works every time.”

Bella then quoted Romans 1:21, explaining that unthankfulness leads to darkened understanding. “When you gripe and complain, you get dumber and dumber. But when you’re thankful, you gain clarity and wisdom.”

As the discussion progressed, Bella painted vivid pictures from the Bible, comparing Jesus to the Passover and the Jubilee. “It is God’s will for all to be saved and healed. Jesus is the Good Shepherd, not seeking to take from us, but to care for us.”

She encouraged the congregation to believe in their authority over sickness and disease, referencing Deuteronomy 7:15, “The LORD will take away from thee all sickness… and will lay them upon those who hate thee.”

The discussion concluded with Bella’s powerful declaration, “My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I have a Healer, and I am healed. It is His will for me.”

The congregation left the church that day with renewed faith and determination to walk in the strength of the Lord God, just as Paul did when he chose to stay and help others instead of departing to be with the Lord.

In Towson, where the community thrives and faith runs deep, Bella’s words resonated with many, inspiring hope and spiritual growth.

Insights from Bethesda’s Book Club, Maryland

On a sunny afternoon, March 10th, 2025, a group of devoted Christians gathered in the heart of Bethesda, Maryland, just a few miles from Washington, D.C. The urban center, renowned for its vibrant arts and culture, served as the backdrop for a faith-filled book club meeting led by Carol, a longtime resident and passionate believer. The chosen book for the session was Joel Osteen’s latest work, which resonated deeply with the attendees.

Bethesda, known for its trendy shops, boutiques, and over 200 diverse restaurants, provided the perfect ambiance for the gathering. The attendees, a mix of seasoned believers and newcomers, met at a quaint café nestled near the renowned Round House Theater. As the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, the group settled in to discuss the transformative teachings of Osteen.

Carol began by highlighting the theme of faith and resilience, drawing parallels between Osteen’s message and the dynamic transformation of Bethesda itself. “Just as our city has evolved into a hub of creativity and culture, so too can our faith journey blossom with hope and perseverance,” she said, her eyes gleaming with passion.

One of the attendees, John, shared his personal experience of overcoming adversity through faith. “Joel’s words about trusting God’s plan helped me navigate a difficult period in my life. It’s like walking through Cabin John Regional Park — sometimes the path is winding, but there’s beauty and peace in the journey.”

As the discussion unfolded, the group delved into Osteen’s emphasis on gratitude and positivity. Carol guided the conversation with grace, encouraging everyone to share their stories. The atmosphere was warm and supportive, much like the community spirit that thrives in Bethesda’s local art galleries and museums.

The Power of Unity and Faith

With the sun casting golden hues over the city, the conversation shifted to the concept of abundance and divine favor, central themes in Osteen’s book. Carol read aloud a passage that resonated with the group: “God has already lined up the right people, the right breaks, and the right opportunities. You just have to keep moving forward.”

Inspired by the words, Sarah, a young mother, spoke of finding strength in her faith while raising her children. “This book reminds me that, like Bethesda’s thriving transformation, my family’s struggles can lead to growth and joy.”

The group decided to take a short walk to Cabin John Regional Park, embracing the serene environment as they reflected on the day’s discussion. Amidst nature’s beauty, they prayed together, asking for guidance and strength in their spiritual journeys.

As the meeting concluded, Carol expressed her gratitude for the fellowship and the shared wisdom. “We are like the artists in Bethesda’s galleries — each of us crafting a unique masterpiece through faith and love.”

With hearts full of hope and spirits lifted, the group dispersed, carrying the message of Joel Osteen’s book into their daily lives, ready to face the future with unwavering faith and joy.
